The RH Re-Up

So much has gone down this week at RH that if you don’t mind, I’m skipping the intro….

GLC, Rhymefest, DJ Babu, DJ RTC

Last weekend RH got together with the legendary DJ Babu, ADad, GLC & Rhymefest for a little something we like to call Closed Sessions. During this 14-hour session, Rhymefest revealed the official release date of his second album El Che scheduled drop May 7, 2010. Check out pics and video from inside the studio session here. Be sure to also check out this track “Happiness Before Riches” from another Closed Session featuring Bun B, GLC, and BJ The Chicago Kid. Download it for free here.

Happiness Before Riches

Now I know nobody likes hearing bad news but if you haven’t already heard, the Mos Def x DOOM show that was supposed to be tonight has been rescheduled. Due to a scheduling conflict, the show has been pushed back to February 13th.  Click here to read the official press release and instructions on how to get a refund here.

Stars and Straps

On a lighter note, Famous Stars and Straps revealed their 2010 Spring line this week. Including denim, headwear, tees, swimwear and more, this seasons collection is looking pretty dope. Check out pics from the look book here. ??And finally, RH is pleased to announce the beginning of our newest segment, In The RH Radio. Thanks to our nice new player, located in the upper right corner, we can now use it to highlight some of our favorite music and give you a closer look at the tracks on the RH pages, in our iTunes collections, and from our own personal playlists. This week DJ RTC took over the player, programming it with some of his favorites tunes. Check out the songs he picked and find out why he picked them here.

On the flipside, we got more fresh new interviews and updates here…

SMKA

*RH First Look: SMKA
We kicked off the week by stepping into the science lab of the Atlanta production outfit, SMKA.  The crew’s 2009 808 Experiment Vol. 1 was named one of the city’s best mixtapes by Creative Loafing, and with the recent 2010 release of Vol. 2, they’ve upped the ante.  The new project features tracks with rising stars such as Yelawolf, Outasight, Aleon Craft, and many more.  We put them under the First Look microscope and dug into the specifics of the science. Examine the interview here.

Wale

*RH TV: Interview With Wale At The Sprite Step-Off
We caught up with Wale while he was in Chicago over the weekend for the Sprite Step-Off at The Regal Theatre. Check out the footage and listen in as Wale talks about his experiences in the city, plans for working Attention Deficit Disorder, and growing up.  See it here
