Everything from animated GIFs to racy character posters have characterized Sin City: A Dame to Kill For‘s marketing strategy up to this point, but nothing beats seeing brand new footage of the film. Today, the latest trailer for the film was released and further contextualizes the film’s narrative that features Jessica Alba, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, and Eva Green. As has been mentioned in the past, A Dame to Kill For is made up of four vignettes (three based on co-director Mark Millar’s graphic novel of the same name plus an original story) that focuses on a specific set of characters. The trailer does a great job to highlight each vignette equally without spoiling too much narrative contained within them.

However, the biggest draw to Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is how visually sound the film is. The high black and white contrast style just oozes with character. If you thought the first Sin City looked amazing, A Dame to Kill For blows it right out the water. Kind of fitting, considering the subject matter, no? Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will be in theaters on August 22nd.
