Adobe Announces Photoshop and Lightroom Bundle for iPhone

Adobe has recently announced some new stuff that should interest all of those that subscribe to their Creative Cloud service. Not too long ago, Adobe announced that they would be releasing a mobile version of Lightroom to all of its Creative Cloud subscribers, but it was initially only available for the iPad. That has recently changed as users will now be able to use the mobile version of Adobe Lightroom on their iPhone as well.

There is also an upgrade to the Photography Creative Cloud plan which is still being offered for $9.99 a month, but includes more bang for your buck. Included in the bundle is Photoshop CC, Lightroom, Lightroom Mobile, and the newly released app, Photoshop Mix. This free app was designed to organize all your photos into one central spot, as well as having photo editing capabilities. Everything is available now at Adobe for download, and it should be quite valuable to all the photographers out there.

Adobe Reveals Touchscreen Version of Photoshop CC At Surface Pro 3 Event

It looks like Adobe is going to make a bigger push to enter the market of touch devices with its newest offering, a touch-friendly version of Photoshop CC. Adobe showed off this new version of Photoshop CC at Microsoft's launch of the Surface Pro 3, and from what Engadget reported, the app is a fully powered version and not just simply a mobile version with basic features. The new version features larger UI elements for easy use and is designed to be used with either a finger or stylus. Like other mobile products, you'll be able to interact with the screen with commonly used gestures like tapping, swiping, and pinch to zoom. As of right now, there is no time table as to when it will be released, but with the demo that Adobe gave, it will be interesting to see what other features they will have up their sleeves.

Adobe Lightroom for iPad App

[Video] Adobe Brings Lightroom to iPad, but Not for Everyone

It looks like Adobe has finally unveiled an app version of Adobe Lightroom for the photographer on the go who wants the flexibility to organize, edit, and share their photos from anywhere. Adobe Lightroom Mobile lets you step away from your computer and gives you all the tools you may need to edit your photos on your iPhone or iPad. The app won't replace the desktop version, but you'll get the most commonly used adjustments like Exposure, Contrast, Saturation, Sharpening, Clarity and more to use with your smartphone photos or RAW images.

What's cool about the app is that Adobe Lightroom Mobile syncs with your desktop version, and with the use of Smart Previews, lets you edit Raw images without taking up space on your iPhone or iPad, provided you have internet connection. There is also an option to save your files offline in case you don't have access to the internet so you can still do your editing. The app sounds interesting and can prove to be quite useful, but there are some downsides as well. Even though this app is free, it's only available for Creative Cloud subscribers, and those who aren't subscribers have no way of downloading the app. You can check out the intro video below, and for more information on Adobe Lightroom Mobile, visit Adobe's official website here.

Photos by Gabriel Flores

VSCO continues to impress the photography world with its newly released and beautifully nostalgic film pack called VSCO Film 05: The Archetype Films Collection. It includes mass market, consumer film emulation from the golden era of analog film photography: the film that led the way for popular brands like Kodak Ektar and Agfa Vista. What stands out with this new collection is that it includes both tungsten/night versions of each film emulation, giving images a super authentic feel. Aimed to produce the most accurate representation of the analog product, it also includes custom camera profiles for Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fuji, Olympus and Leica. Pretty impressive.

Now here are some reasons why you should get this film pack as soon as possible: Until March 11th, 2014, VSCO Film 05 will be on sale for 25% off. If you currently own a previous version or VSCO Keys, you'll receive 50% off of what is normally priced at $119. And if you don't own VSCO Film yet, you can buy any one pack for full price and still receive VSCO Film 05 for half off. Click here to check out some other versions and price listings.

You can cop a digital download now by clicking on the following links for Lightroom 4 & 5 and Adobe Camera Raw for Photoshop CS6 & CC. VSCO even provided a brief walkthrough for each software.

Adobe Announces Amazing Creative Cloud Update

Photos by Adobe Press Release

It is no secret that Adobe Photoshop already has the most powerful manipulation tools available. And right when you think it can't get any better, they announce the release of their latest update to Creative Cloud for Design. The update is live now and has a few very exciting features like Perspective Warp, Linked Smart Objects, and 3D Printing. By paying $49.99 monthly for Adobe's Creative Cloud Model, you'll have access to all major updates, as soon as they come available, and you could even try it for free here to see if you like it.

A quick description for the Perspective Warp tool is that it allows you to adjust the perspective of your image by placing a grid or individual lines within images, so you can tug and pull wherever you please to warp the image.

The introduction of the Linked Smart Objects tool is exciting because it allows you to efficiently change a smart object in just one document; whereas before, you'd have to apply the same edits over again within the document, or replace them with new versions. This is especially good for creating promo material and editing logos.

The 3-D Printing tool is the newest with tons of potential growth. Here, you can create, edit, preview and print a 3-D design and bring it to life.

Of course, explaining these features just won't do as much justice as seeing how it works in action, so be sure to check out Adobe's overviews and tutorials here to learn more. Also be sure to check some of these photos they released to preview.

Adobe's $10/month Photoshop Photography Program available until 12/8

It's hard to take photos with a digital camera (dSLR or otherwise) without having the proper tools of either PhotoShop or Lightroom to assist you. While I was long resistant to making the move from analog to digital (a move I'm still transitioning through), Adobe's two programs have helped give back some of the post-process assistance and control that the dark room used to offer. Unfortunately, unless you either have hundreds of dollars, a graphic-heavy job, or pirate the programs, coming across Adobe's Creative Suite comes at a very, very steep cost that scares away casual photographers.

To combat this, Adobe has introduced a special $10/month (for a one-year commitment) subscription from now until December 8th (Sunday!). Included in the "Photoshop Photography Program" is access to Photoshop Creative Cloud, Lightroom 5, a Behance Membership with ProSite 20GB of online storage, and more. Whether you're just entering the wonderful world of digital photography or a savvy veteran, I highly recommend taking advantage of this deal by clicking here.
