Wu-Tang Clan: "Execution in Autumn"
An unreleased Wu-Tang track has risen from the dungeons of rap! Released by Soul Temple as a "customer appreciation offering," the track is available for streaming and purchase on their official bandcamp. "Execution in Autumn" features production by Frank Dukes with verses by RZA, Raekwon, and U-God. Even better, Soul Temple is offering the track on vinyl for a price that listeners can set (with a minimum of $.50) + shipping fees. This is a great incentive for both Wu-Tang fans and record collectors/DJs.
Just as a reminder, you can listen to/buy the track here.
[Trailer] The Hangover Part III
http://youtu.be/JdcL1UyaoZk
The Hangover was a surprisingly funny film. I have a tendency to carry a high bar when it comes to comedy films, and while it didn't quite meet it, it still warranted a few laughs. However, I haven't had a chance to catch The Hangover Part II, but from what I've heard from fellow film critics, it was more of the same. To complete a full trilogy, director Todd Phillips and the ensemble cast of Bradley Cooper, Ken Jeong, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha, and Ed Helms return for the final installment.
Joined by newcomer John Goodman, The Hangover Part III finds the Wolfpack searching for Mr. Chow after Goodman's character kidnaps Doug as collateral for money Chow stole from him. With the stage set, The Hangover Part III seems to have moved past the "hangover" gimmick; will that prove to be enough to change the formula? We can all find out when it hits theaters on May 23rd.
Next James Bond Film Offered to Christopher Nolan
After Skyfall came out last year, director Sam Mendes stepped away from the franchise, choosing not to direct the next entry in the vast 007 franchise. Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, in their search for the next potential director, have begun informal talks with The Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan.
According to the Daily Mail, the two producers have approached Nolan with the possibility of directing the 24th James Bond film. Of course a few obstacles could prevent the dream pairing, the biggest of which being the shooting/production schedule of Nolan's upcoming film, Interstellar. Also, there are intentions from MGM to shoot Bond 24 and 25 consecutively, essentially booking Nolan's next few years with three huge projects.
Still, it doesn't hurt to try, and with Nolan's pedigree, just the rumors involved with his name would be enough to get Bond fans excited.

Sidewalk Kal: "Non Believers"
Impolite Society's Sidewalk Kal is the smooth, laidback member of the group. That's not to say he doesn't go hard at shows, but his studio stuff is always so chill. Buoyed by some beats produced by producer Mattron/Yung AOL, Kal delivers a smooth flow complete with a Sega reference. If you haven't heard any of Sidewalk Kal's solo stuff before, "Non Believers" is a great introduction to his style. Matched with atmospheric, almost ambience-filled beats, Kal definitely represents a different, though welcome sound in the already-varied Chicago hip hop scene.
[Mixtape] The Hood Internet: "The Mixtape Volume Seven"
Somehow, The Hood Internet's latest mixtape, The Mixtape Volume Seven, slid past us. The new collection of mashups by the Chicago production duo features 25 tracks mixing up a plethora of artists, including Justin Timberlake, Daft Punk, Danny Brown, Chance the Rapper, Action Bronson, Frank Ocean, and Purity Ring. For those unfamiliar with The Hood Internet, they mix and mash hip hop/R&B tracks with songs from Indie Rock bands, resulting in an insanely catchy and infectious number of songs.
Some personal favorites from The Mixtape Volume Seven include "Grown Up Has No Trigger" (Danny Brown X Dirty Projectors), "Double Talm" (Chance the Rapper X Girl Unit), "Lucky Suit" (Justin Timberlake X Jay-Z X Daft Punk), and "Pyramidspeak" (Purity Ring X Frank Ocean). Keep in mind: This is all coming from somebody who doesn't really like dance music; The Hood Internet is that good.
You can stream the mixtape below or download it here.

Naledge: "Love Not Personal" (feat. Saba and Vic Spencer)
The latest song from Naledge, "Love Not Personal," just dropped. Featuring Saba and Vic Spencer, a smooth saxophone carries the beat across each rappers' verses as they rap about not trusting the ladies. The hook preaches some knowledge: "Don't trust these pros, they just gonna go and take off their clothes/Their loving ain't personal. They blow you kisses, then they go out to clubs with your bros/Their loving ain't personal."
Check out the song below.

[Trailer 2] Pacific Rim
http://youtu.be/5guMumPFBag
Following the WonderCon trailer for Pacific Rim is this first official trailer for the film. Featuring so much new footage, the new trailer includes some back story to how the kaiju appeared and why the Jaegers were built to combat them. Fortunately, not too much of the story is spoiled in this trailer; balanced into the narrative context are, you guessed it, new scenes of giant mechas fighting giant monsters. Really, what more could you ask for in a movie?
The Guillermo del Toro-led Pacific Rim is fast approaching in less than two months, so try to savor the latest trailer as much as possible.
[Video] Talib Kweli X Chance the Rapper X Cory Mo Freestyle
Recently, Chicago superhero Chance the Rapper appeared on Showoff Radio with Statik Selektah to show off some freestyle skills. With him were Cory Mo and hip hop legend Talib Kweli. Each rapper cyphered over the "1 Track" beat by ASAP Rocky. Talib had the longest verse, but Chance definitely showed some good chops, too. Check out the video below.
