Dan Black: "Symphonies" (Hot City Remix)
Dan Black's "Symphonies" is somewhat similar to Miike Snow's "Animal" and The Ting Tings' "Great DJ". I say that because "Symphonies" continues to see new life via new remixes, even though the song's original release was not anytime in the recent past. Having said that, here's another remix of Dan Black's most recognizable joint, this one done by Hot City. You can listen and grab it here via RCRDLBL.
Pennjamin Banneker: Hello World Mixtape
I'm going to be completely honest here... Benjamin Banneker is way too overlooked, and any emcee naming themselves Pennjamin Banneker can at least get one post... Let that be a lesson kids, a clever name can open doors. Anyway, the Project Fr3sh emcee introduces himself via Hello World, a new mixtape you can download here.
A Decade of Flying Lotus Mixtape
Many people say they like Flying Lotus, but how fly are they, really? Well, for those that pretend to know dude's music, as well as those that truly do, here's a collection that FL put out over the weekend and includes records that have not yet been serviced on a large scale. This also serves as an intermediary release between 2008's Los Angeles and his new album coming out on 4/20.
Flying Lotus said via Brainfeeder:
"Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone as we’re approaching this new year, I felt it was time to let go of some things that have been gathering dust. Some old things, and some new things, I tried to pick out tracks that I know yall haven’t heard yet so there should be surprises around every turn. Can’t believe i’ve been making tracks for over 10 years now..That said, there’s so much to learn still. I hope you all enjoy this mix. Thanks to the Gaslamp Killer for doing an incredible job on this. Can’t wait for you all to hear my album ‘Cosmogramma’ coming out April 20th 2010 on Warp Records."
Download it all as one long track right here.
Mos Def Finally Delivers Video We All Hoped For In "History"
"Ten years ago we made history so they're missing us."
Mos Def took a more minimal approach with videos from his '09 opus, Ecstatic. With much of what Mos Def does, fans take what he gives as he gives it under a 'don't question a genius' type of thing while muttering complaints under their respective breathes... Anyway, do away with all that and fix your eyes on "History" the new video from Mos, which features Talib Kweli. The Ecstatic was my top album of the year and now we finally have a video to match. Check it out after the jump... 6th Sense twittered earlier that watching this video was like watching history... Couldn't agree more.

YP: "The Bidness" featuring Gutta
"Starting to feel like I am the bidness."
More than a few quotables in this new one from YP. "The Bidness" is going to be on YP's forthcoming mixtape with Sean Mac, and was also released over the weekend on a NikeTalk mixtape that I didn't see... Anyway, YP had a very productive '09 campaign, and things are shaping up well in early 2010. Download it below.
