[RH Premiere] ShowYouSuck: "Rap Game Karate" (prod by Zak Jablow)

RapGameKarate Art2

"Rap Game Karate" is the first single from AEMMP Hip Hop's forthcoming compilation, The Prerequisite. The album features a great collection of Chicago Hip Hop artists, all compiled by the student run record label of Columbia College. The new record features ShowYouSuck, with production from Zak Jablow and it is quite the banger.  The Prerequisite will be released on March 5th, and is the follow-up to last year's Class President, which introduced many to the production Thelonious Martin.  Listen and download the song below, and stay tuned for more from AEMMP Hip Hop.

[RH Premiere] Seven1: "Black Boy Lost (Can't Save Em)"

black boy lost

Seven1 made a really important record over the summer by the name of "Death of Drillin'".  The record examined Chicago's Hip Hop scene, and the context in which the music was being made.  It caused some people to get upset, and others to pump their fists in support.  Since then, Seven has been fairly quiet and released just a few records.  On Monday, the southside emcee will release a new EP, Forever Dies Today.  This morning we are premiering Seven1's "Black Boy Lost (Can't Save Em)", which is on the new project and takes another look at the flashing lights of the music game, and the problems when it overshadows reality.  Listen and download it below.

[RH Premiere] Roman Flowrs: "Radio" feat Jinx The Natural

Radio cover art

Up and comer Roman Flowrs ended 2012 by dropping the well-recieved Yung $eed$.  Since then, he has taken some time off to finish up OneHellofaPromo, and collaborate with other artists.  He kicks off the steady stream of new features with this smoothed out cut, "Radio", featuring Jinx The Natural.  This is a winner.  Peep it below, and look for more Roman Flowrs joints throughout #FeatureFebruary.

[RH Video Premiere] Matty Rico: "Sweet Home Chicago"

SweetHomeChicago

Today we get a new video from Chicago born & bred emcee Matty Rico (formally of AudioDax), which features Brice Fox, The Proletarians & Constant L. Burts. The track and video are  a clear plea to the city they all have grown to love one way or another, while commenting on the epic violence that has been thriving for countless years now. We definitely support the message, and so we did a concise interview with Matty to better understand everything that is involved with this release. Lookout for more music from Matty Soon.

[RH Video Premiere] Rockboy K9: "Team Dope"

epicjanuary

Rockboy K9's EpicJanuary will drop on Valentine's Day.  Today we premiere his latest video for "Team Dope".  This a little lighter than some of the previous material from Rockboy, who has told me previously that he strives to find a balance between the celebratory and more serious cuts.  He still manages to drop some gems along the way as well.  Watch his new video below.
