[Video] Red Bull Sound Select Sounds of the City: ShowYouSuck
Red Bull took Chicago hip hop artist ShowYouSuck to one of his favorite venues, Reggie's Rock House in the South Loop, his backyard and Code of Conduct tattoo parlor in his hometown as part of their "Sounds of the City" series. "At Reggie's Rock Club I reached greatness," says Show in the intro, "it's the location for a lot of benchmarks in my career: first sold out show and it has the best buffalo chicken sandwich I've ever had in my life, hands down." Red Bull takes ShowYouSuck back to hang out, eat a chicken sandwich and shoot a video for his song, "Big Gulp" off One Man Pizza Party 3: Rest In Pizza. The video comes on the heels of his visual release for "Girls, Nachos" last week and is another good look for the Treated Crew/LOD member.

[Video] Eminem: "Berzerk"
It looks like Slim Shady is back and in top notch form. With some production assistance by Rick Rubin, Eminem went completely "Berzerk" on his first official single from The Marshal Mathers LP 2, which has stans all over the world hyped-up to hear what he has been working on recently. The visual didn't disappoint either, doing a great job to encapsulate the nostalgic feeling the song exudes. Hilarious cameos by Kendrick Lamar, Kid Roch, The Alchemist, and more also add to its replay value. Peep below.

[RH Video Premiere] Netherfriends 8/20 Bust
Earlier this month, Netherfriends set out to make Kind of Buzzed, vol. 6 as special as it could be, and what's more special than recording in front of a live audience on top of a rooftop in Chicago at sunset? Unfortunately, like all fun things in Chicago, the cops came and busted the party. Netherfriends, however, was able to record a few beats where he chopped up Coltrane's "A Love Supreme" before we were forced to leave. My good friend FragD Films was also able to shoot some footage of the shortened set, resulting in the "Netherfriends 8/20 Bust" video that you can watch below.
Recording for Kind of Buzzed, vol. 6 Round 2 has been rescheduled to take place at Cafe Mustache on September 6th. Details for the night can be found on Facebook. The recording will follow a listening party of Kind of Buzzed, vol. 3, as well.

[Video] Kembe X: "Rap Game"
Young Loose, better known as "The Village" artist Kembe X has consistently put out some of the hottest music to come out of Chicago since hitting the scene with 2011's Self-Rule which landed at the top of Forbes' best free music of the year. The latest video from Kembe is this Endocolor-directed piece for "Rap Game" off his Soundtrack II Armageddon release earlier this year. Hard at work in the studio for a projected end of the year release, the 18-year-old with a golden grill isn't stopping anytime soon, check the video below.

[Video] Jordan Looney: "Yesterday"
Following up his recently released video for "Over," Chicago rapper Jordan Looney just dropped yet another video for "Yesterday," the first single off of his upcoming EP, Dedication Over Distance. The video, shot by Robby Barnett, features the rapper living up to his RoofLife affiliation as he raps on a roof overlooking the city. The video also incorporates some cool slow motion effects, capturing a splash of water, a champagne explosion, and even Jordan doing a flip. There's some great post-editing in this video.
On August 30th, Jordan will be having a record release show at the Tonic Room alongside Second City Citizens, Walter J. Liveharder, and MC Everest. Make sure you RSVP to the event on Facebook here.

[Video] A$AP Rocky brings out B-Real in Austin
Headlined by Wiz Khalifa, the The Under The Influence Tour has a pretty stacked line up of some up and comers in the game. While the crowd was clearly there to see Wiz judging by all the band tees, I was looking forward to seeing A$AP Rocky. I hadn't seen A$AP live since last summer in Chicago when he performed at Pitchfork, and this was the first time he'd been back to Austin since he tore up SXSW two years ago. While I enjoyed his set at Pitchfork, I could see his growth since then at last night's show. He just commanded the stage, and after the first song, he had the crowd in the palm of his hands; all eyes were on him. One of the best things about his performance was that he came out to a full band, and that just added so much more to the whole experience.
What really made the night for me, however, was when A$AP brought out B-Real to cover some Cypress Hill classics like "How I Could Just Kill A Man." After that, the night belonged to A$AP as he closed out with hits like "Goldie" and "F**ckin' Problems." Check out the video to see both ASAP & B Real perform at the Austin 360 Amphitheater. More photos are coming soon.
