Kanye West x Vanity Fair

Kanye West is featured in the new Vanity Fair. He talked to the magazine about his new Rosewood Movement, how his mother's death has inspired him to be a better person, as well as the direction he would like to take Hip Hop on his new album.
"I wanted to take it back to the essence, like the soulful people who brought knowledge—like RZA and Q-Tip. At a certain point, you need to find a better way to do it; it’s like people [in basketball] who dunk and hurt their wrist and come down on their knees too hard. Your knee’s gonna give out at a certain point. Some of my social and public-persona knees are starting to give out. I still want to run the games. I’ve just got to not get kicked up quite as hard."
I think that's dope. One line that has always stuck with me is one Kanye said on College Dropout, "When guys want the feeling of A Tribe Called Quest, and all they got left is this guy called West." Who's got the Jazz?

Kid Cudi: "Erase Me" Video ft. Kanye West

Kid Cudi teams up with Kanye West and two unlikely members of his band, McLovin and Clark Duke (Sex Drive, Hot Tub Time Machine) to create the video for Erase Me. He has stated before and this song obviously expresses Kid Cudi's love for music other than rap and his want to create more of this music. He transforms into a Jimi Hendrix of sorts for this video and creates a sort of modernized 60's movement throughout. It is creative and interesting to watch but Erase Me isn't one of my favorite songs so I wasn't so appealed.

Emilio Rojas: "Turn It Up" feat Yelawolf

Everyone is doing songs called "Turn It Up" these days... I got to let the title sharing slide, cause Emilio Rojas is the homie from way back, and this song is pretty dope. Emilio has been killing it lately with this double time flows, and "Turn It Up" follows suit with Emilio. Yelawolf hops on for the assist and you have a Green Lantern produced street banger from Rojas' forthcoming A Life Without Shame, presented by Famous Stars & Straps and DJ Green Lantern. Lantern is also Emilio's full time DJ now, and I expect the two to make a lot of noise. We've been telling you about Rojas for a minute, I hope this time around everyone takes notice.
Gold Panda: "Snow and Taxis"

Gold Panda is a producer out of the UK where he's just released his fantastic first long player, Lucky Shiner; The standout track is "Snow and Taxis" which is a lush, electronic ballad. Relentlessly pushing forward, the beat is layered with flourishes of bells and snare which give the track a dense, but organic texture. Reminiscent of Air France's recent brilliant offering, Gold Panda works similar territory but creates his own space. Gold Panda's Lucky Shiner is out now on Ghostly International Records.
