[Mixtape] Caleb James: "The Jones"
Caleb James' Ground Up still finds it way onto my rotation every other week, so you could bet that I was extremely impatient for James' follow-up project, The Jones, to drop. Today, after an unfortunate pushback earlier this week, the 'tape is finally out and Chicago now has the perfect soundtrack for the summer. The SaveMoney member picked great production by the likes of Nez & Rio, Steve "Stone" Huff, Xtreme, Blended Babies, Gift and his own to enjoy on a hot day while Joey Purps nabbed the only guest-verse on the 'tape. Caleb also brings back a nostalgic sound and some R. Kelly influences to round-up a project that will surely end up being a lot of people's favorite.

[Video] Lucki Eck$: "Alternative Trap" Release Party Promo
Lucki Eck$ profile rose significantly this year thanks in part by a strong backing from Elevator Mag and FSD's Andrew Barber, but to not properly credit his success due to the talent Lucki possess and the quality of the material he has released so far would be highly inaccurate and extremely wrong. The emcee is a genius when it comes to wordplay, which helps him give us his unique vision in a very enhancing way and his non-chalant flow submerges you even more into the aesthetics of the trap stories he tells in his songs. That's truly why his upcoming tape is one of year's most awaited projects.
Alternative Trap is set to drop on July 25 and a release part will be held on July 24 at New Era store, to promote the 'tape and the event, Lucki linked up once again with Elevator to shoot a quick video that sheds some light behind the concept of Alternative Trap. Peep below.

Jarred A.G.: "Barbarians" (feat. Dally Auston) (prod. C-Sick)
Jarred A.G. just released a brand new banger via DJ Booth featuring Dally Auston and production by C-Sick entitled Barbarians. Jarred changes up flows effortlessly throughout the track and Dally reps SaveMoney properly with a scene-stealing verse while the instrumental is yet another solid effort by the local producer -who's one of the most consistent cats in the game right now-.
[Mixtape] Nick Astro: Super16
Super16 has been a long time coming. Nick Astro made his public debut with RockHop Flavored Tea last year that gave a hint at the Chicago rapper's musical aesthetics, opting for the atypical "hip hop sound." However, the real push towards his musical growth was first seen in "Food for Tomorrow." Since then (hell, before then even), Nick Astro has been pushing hard to make Super16 the perfect project that he feels it ought to be. I've been lucky enough to be a part of the ride in my own capacity, helping him document his first trip to SXSW, a few live shows, interviews, music videos, and more.
Through the journey, I've seen first-hand just how hard Astro works and how dedicated he is to his craft. The passion translates into how complete Super16 sounds, right down to the subtleties in vocal and production features worded as "co-starring" and "scored," staying true to the Super 16 film motif. On that same note, vocal features include Raffinae, Loona Dae, TheMind, Auggie the 9th, Legit, Chandler London, RealShannonD, Britney D., and production features include Peter CottonTale X Savier, Holy Other, IBCLASSIC, Sani, NapsTheLionMan, Miles August, Saba, Mr. Int, Dee Lilly, Miles August, and Nick Astro himself.

A new video by L.E.P. Bogus Boys for their street single "It's On Me" just hit the e-streets. Both the visual and song crank up the intensity and the duo does a great job keeping it raw and uncut. Don’t Feed Da Killaz 4 drops on August 8th and it it'll be a project you won't want to miss, that's on me.

[Mixtape] ProbCause: "The Recipe Vol. 2"
Trying to encapsulate the whole aura surrounding Chicago's local hip hop scene is damn near impossible, but ProbCause has gotten as close as possible with his newest mixtape The Recipe Vol 2. In it we get collaborations between Prob and a wide range of artists from the city including; Chance The Rapper, Martin $ky, Nasim Williams, Scheme, Psalm One, Auggie The 9th, ShowYouSuck and more. As a matter of fact, if you've been living under a rock for the past year this should be you definitive introduction to the most buzzing city in Hip Hop. Highlights include the latest single "LSD" featuring Chano, "High Altitude" -which video production team Elevator showed interest in shooting-and the posse cut "Chicago School 1.0".
The Hood Internet: "Mom Jeans 2.0" (ShowYouSuck X Them Jeans X James Pants)
Here's a throwback remix! ShowYouSuck's One Man Pizza Party 2: Mo' Slices, Mo' Problems featured the classic ode to the high-risk, all-reward fashion statement, "Mom Jeans." With the final Pizza Party set to come out next week, Slice After Death, ShowYouSuck is switching the game up a bit, having the mixtape consist of a mix of both new songs and remixes of classic songs from a large number of producers.
The first said remix to come out for the album is The Hood Internet's take on the high-waisted pantaloons, "Mom Jeans 2.0." All Denim Everything. Caleb James: "24s"
Fans of SaveMoney's Caleb James were disappointed once they heard the highly-anticipated 'tape The Jones, had been pushed back for a couple more days. Not someone who would simply let his fans down, Caleb released a new track entitled "24s" to hold us over while we wait for July 17th. "24s" was produced by Blended Babies and will be up on iTunes later tonight.
