Dally Auston Shares New Single "Nike Effect"

West Side rapper Dally Auston just released a new track called "Nike Effect" via soundcloud. This is the latest release from Dally, who uses his laid back flow to talk about his approach to life before dropping a series of pop culture references in rapid sequence on top of the spaced out, David Miller produced, beat. The track clocks in at 2 minutes long, urging the listener to follow along with the quickfire lyrics which is typical of Dally Auston, especially in his more recent releases.  Listen to it below.

[Mixtape] Sulaiman: "Hook Line & Thinker"

Sulaiman is back with a fresh new tape to help his friends and family back in the midwest brave through (hopefully) the last few terrible months of winter. A few months back I found myself sitting and talking to Suli, discussing the new rise of the scene in Chicago, the jump-off of artists like Vic Mensa and Chance The Rapper and what it all means. Sulaiman stressed the thought process of artists coming from Chicago, the need to keep the talent flowing to make it a scene that rivals the coasts at the end of the say. The Treated Crew member has been in and out of the foreground of hip-hop, always a thinker and a lyricist. With that in mind, Hook Line and Thinker may just be one of the most appropriate album title in recent memory, certainly making more sense than Rick Ross's Mastermind.

Produced by Doc Da MindBenda and featuring Dally Auston, Gzus Piece and Keenan Coke, the seven-song Hook Line and Thinker is a boom-bap-ish lyrical playground, with Sulaiman going off for bars. It's a refreshing project that will certainly make people once again take notice of Sulaiman. Check out the latest from Chicago, available for stream/download below.

[Mixtape] Dally Auston: "The Westside EP"

Chicago's Dally Auston, part of the vaunted SaveMoney clique that has been steadily making their impact felt on the larger Chicago hip-hop scene and nation-wide over the past year, has been quiet since the summer when he dropped the critically-acclaimed project The Wood back in March of last year. Whereas The Wood took Auston from being known amongst hip-hop heads in the city to hitting the blogosphere and gaining recognition outside the city, The Westside EP stands to do much more for the 19-year-old artist, allowing him an opportunity to take advantage of his city and his colleagues' current position in the national picture.
Recorded over a lengthy period of time at The Music Garage in the city's West Town neighborhood, with production from Doc Da MindBenda, Ongaud, Smoko Ono and more, Dally's latest is a distinct overture from his last offering, demonstrating a growth both lyrically and musically that takes from many different influences, blending them beautifully into a cohesive work. The West Side is known for the 'bopping' craze that has taken over the neighborhoods that make it up and few do it better than Auston, who provided a project in The Westside EP that can make you want to dance and think all at once. The O'My's: "Mystic Pussy" (feat. Iceface, GLC, and Dally Auston)

Last week The O'My's dropped their new album, A Humble Masterpiece showcasing the band that has been making waves in Chicago for years. Today, we get the other side of The O'My's project as Maceo Haymes and Nick Hennessy and crew set the production for GLC, Dally Auston and Iceface who do their thing over the soulful instrumental beat accented by Haymes vocals and Will Miller's inspired horn playing. Check out the track below and stay posted to RH for more updates on The O'My's coming soon.

Dally Auston: "Through The Wire"

It's worth mentioning once again that Dally Auston's The Wood has been one of the best debut releases we've have the chance to hear this year. The 'tape properly introduced us to Dally and his mellow flow while showing the range of his artistic vision with various concepts intertwining throughout each record.

The SaveMoney emcee is now gearing up towards releasing a follow-up project entitled Roses, and this weekend Dally unleashed the first single, "Through The Wire." Produced by the homies, OnGaud, this joint will hold us over until more info regarding Roses is unveiled.

Jarred A.G.: "Barbarians" (feat. Dally Auston) (prod. C-Sick)

Jarred A.G. just released a brand new banger via DJ Booth featuring Dally Auston and production by C-Sick entitled Barbarians. Jarred changes up flows effortlessly throughout the track and Dally reps SaveMoney properly with a scene-stealing verse while the instrumental is yet another solid effort by the local producer -who's one of the most consistent cats in the game right now-.

Mick Jenkins: "BOB" (feat. Dally Auston) (Prod. by OnGaud)

The first time I listened to Mick Jenkins was on DJ SuchNSuch's "Negro League", from then on I've kept a close eye on his material hoping to hear more of the quality he delivered on "Negro League". "BOB" is exactly the song I was waiting for and having Dally Auston do a verse plus OnGaud behind the boards has sold me entirely on the potential Mick has. When's the project coming?

[Video] Dally Auston: "W$GTM"

Capitalizing on the success of his debut full-length project The Wood, Dally Auston brings us a visual gem in the brand new video for "W$GTM". Catch Dally Auston chilling in Chicago's west-side with Jean Deaux, Joey Purp, Tokyo Shawn and handful of other Save Money affiliates below and get to know who really gets the money. Also, I really digged the artistic style director Verluxe implemented with the shots and how it synced perfectly the Smoko Ono-produced beat.
