[Mixtape] Sulaiman: "Hook Line & Thinker"
Sulaiman is back with a fresh new tape to help his friends and family back in the midwest brave through (hopefully) the last few terrible months of winter. A few months back I found myself sitting and talking to Suli, discussing the new rise of the scene in Chicago, the jump-off of artists like Vic Mensa and Chance The Rapper and what it all means. Sulaiman stressed the thought process of artists coming from Chicago, the need to keep the talent flowing to make it a scene that rivals the coasts at the end of the say. The Treated Crew member has been in and out of the foreground of hip-hop, always a thinker and a lyricist. With that in mind, Hook Line and Thinker may just be one of the most appropriate album title in recent memory, certainly making more sense than Rick Ross's Mastermind.
Produced by Doc Da MindBenda and featuring Dally Auston, Gzus Piece and Keenan Coke, the seven-song Hook Line and Thinker is a boom-bap-ish lyrical playground, with Sulaiman going off for bars. It's a refreshing project that will certainly make people once again take notice of Sulaiman. Check out the latest from Chicago, available for stream/download below.
[Mixtape] Doc Da MindBenda: "Welcome To The Grindhouse"
You might not have heard of the Grindhouse yet, but you've most likely have heard music from the Grindhouse. The house that Doc Da Minbenda built has seen a vast majority of Chicago's best emcees come through and record at the studio, building up a highly-respected reputation and relationships that go way beyond the music. Inspired by RZA, Doc spent almost two years crafting a true local opus by gathering both legendary and up-and-coming acts, supplying them with hot instrumentals and putting it all together for a true showcase of all the talent brewing in the city. Akbar, Pugs Atomz, Psalm One, Griff, GLC, Treated Crew, SaveMoney, ProbCause, Legion Of Dudes, Martin $ky, Pavy, Onis and many more are featured in Welcome To The Grindhouse, available for free download below.
[Video] Doc Da Mindbenda: "Mic Vic" (feat. Vic Spencer & Mic Terror)
Vic Spencer & Mic Terror are known as individuals that never hold anything back and always speak what's on their mind, no matter what's the social's stance or who they might offend. Put them together on track and you get a two-headed monster that will devour anything that shows a hint of weakness, add a menacing Doc Da Mindbenda instrumental and it's a wrap for all wack rappers. When you hear both emcees spitting out "Call me Mic Vic, I don't like shit", you should know better than to question if that statement is factual.
The video goes as hard as the track with Treated Crew and SaveMoney coming together in what looks to be an abandoned lot and going reckless while Vic & Mic stand in the front and deliver their verses with a cool misdemeanor only those two can. Directed by Jake Gaza and Jimmy Regular for Point • and • Shoot.
The Grinhouse --a.k.a. the house Doc buit--will drop a new EP soon entitled Welcome To The Grindhouse, which will showcase the talent that studio holds, stay tuned for more updates in the near future!

Chandler London X Cocky: "2 Different Sides" (prod. by Na$im Williams X Doc Da Mindbenda)
Chandler London and Cocky teamed up on this beat co-produced by Na$im Williams and Doc Da Mindbenda. The Na$im and Doc beat has a haunting sound to it that perfectly complements the single artwork depicting the hanging corpse opposite of the little girl on a tree swing. Chandler's on point with his typical open and honest approach while Cocky comments on some dark stuff.
Gzus Piece x Scoleone x Mic Terror x Kennan Coke x Gig Brown: "Thottianna" (Prod. Doc Da Mindbenda & Na$im Williams)
That Thothianna line by P. Rico has been the talk of every single High School in Chicago these past few weeks. Now, Treated Crew's Gzus Piece, Mic Terror & Na$im Williams and affiliates Scoleone, Kennan Coke, Gig Brown & Doc Da Mindbenda give all the Thothiannas out there a shoutout of sorts.
