In the 1968 Olympics held in Mexico City, Mexico Tommie Smith ran the 200m in 19.83 and set a new world record. During the medal ceremony Tommie Smith and teammate John Carlos (who won the bronze medal) made a gesture that would sound all around the world and be relevant till this day. A black gloved fist in the air, Smith and Carlos made the ultimate gesture of Black Power bringing to light all the issues that African American were facing during these time.

Puma is paying homage to this historical moment in time with the special edition Puma Clyde. This is the second release of the Puma Clyde X Tommie Smith pack (If you missed the first release click here). Both styles reference the location, the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City, Mexico.
