Samsung Galaxy K Zoom

Samsung Unveils the New Galaxy K Zoom for Selfie Lovers

Samsung has recently unveiled the newest addition to its Galaxy lineup with the Galaxy K Zoom, drawing a thin line between smartphone and camera. The new smartphone comes equipped with a new 10x optical zoom which is also able to take 20.7 megapixel photos and capture 1080p video at 60 frames per second. It has a very sleek design to match its new camera specs, which very much resemble a regular point and shoot camera we see on the market today.

One interesting feature that the new Galaxy K Zoom has is what's called the Selfie Alarm where you select the area you want your face to appear in the frame. Once you turn the camera around, you'll hear a beep when you're in position, and within a few seconds, your selfie will be snapped. There's still no word as to how much or when the Galaxy K Zoom will be released, so we'll be waiting awhile.

Sony RX100m3 Camera

Rumors of a New Sony RX100M3 Camera Have Leaked

Previously known as the RX200, the Sony RX100 Mark III is in fact being worked on by Sony after the user manual for the product was leaked. It looks like Sony will be adding another addition to its compact lineup which, according to sources, could arrive as early as this week. The new camera will come equipped with a new 28-100mm f/1.8-2.8 lens that will give users the ability to shoot some wide angle shots with a little bit of zoom that will work well in low light conditions. It is also being said that the new camera will come with a pop-up viewfinder for those that would rather shoot through a viewfinder as opposed to an LCD screen. As of right now, these are all rumors with nothing else being revealed at this time by Sony, so we'll have to wait and see what happens..

The Fader's 2014 Photo Issue with Ratking and FKA Twigs

The Fader's 2014 Photo Issue FKA Twigs and Ratking

The FADER Issue 91. Ratking cover by Harry Gould Harvey IV/FKA Twigs cover by Charlie Engman

Last year, it was Juicy J and Earl Sweatshirt that graced the cover of the 85th Fader annual photo issue, and now with the new year upon on us, The Fader has introduced its latest photo issue with Ratking and FKA Twigs as the cover stories. Emilie Friedlander hits the streets of London as she spends time with FKA Twigs, giving us a peak of who the artist is alongside an photo spread by Charlie Engman. The rap trio Ratking is also featured, and they are followed by writer T. Cole Rachel and photographer Harry Gould Harvey IV giving us a look inside the New York group. Not only were these artists featured in the issue, there is a piece by photographer Matthew Monteith and journalist Max Rivlin-Nadler who have decided to photograph four different New York neighborhoods that have either been neglected and left in shambles or have been developed and gentrified. These stories and more are featured in the new issue which is set to drop on newsstands May 13th that you can pre-order here. To get a taste of what the issue will contain, you can check out the three big features now by heading over to The Fader's website.

[Through My Lens] Shooting with Phoenix

Photos by Bobby Reys

Last week, I shared some photos from a location I scouted out for a possible photo shoot, and this week I wanted to share the results of some recent shots I took with Phoenix. I knew when I first found the place that Phoenix would be the one I would want to shoot there because of her style and attitude that comes across so well in photos. The day was cold and rainy, but that did not stop us from venturing out to see what the both of us could create. The location really gave us a good backdrop to work with, along with Phoenix's choice of outfits that made for a fun shoot. You can check out some of the photos I took of Phoenix here. For more, you can check out my blog.
