[Trailer] Tammy

Melissa McCarthy always to be so hit or miss with me. For example, her performance on Bridesmaids was hilarious, but I absolutely despised Identity Thief. However, she is a girl of the Chicagoland area,  and her overall good natured vibe keeps me hoping she will do more work.

The most recent film she is to star in will be one called Tammy. The description states that a young woman heads out on the road with her alcoholic grandmother after losing her job and discovering that her husband has been cheating on her.

Ben Falcone, the husband of McCarthy, directed the upcoming film. However, the writing of it was a duo collaboration between the husband and wife, and both make numerous appearances in each others' works. Additionally featured throughout the film will be Susan Sarandon, Dan Aykroyd, and a few other buzz-worthy names.

Tammy will hopefully bring some good, hard laughs when it releases in theaters on July 2, 2014.

Group shot of the Fantastic Four

Rumors: Jamie Bell And Kate Mara To Join Fantastic Four

Fox's Fantastic Four reboot has been rumored and pressed for info more than most other superhero movies, but it seems that the casting speculations are the closest they have ever been to being official.

According to Variety, Kate Mara just closed a deal to play Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman. Miles Teller seems to be the star withholding the rumors for awhile, and he finally has an offer from Fox to play Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic. Jamie Bell will be Ben Grimm/The Thing, but no offer has been made yet. Michael B. Jordan has been attached to the project for awhile now to play Johnny Storm/The Human Torch. Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan actually have a film out right now called That Awkward Moment.

While that work of theirs hasn't been doing so well critically, both have had brilliant performances recently with Teller in The Spectacular Now and Jordan in Fruitvale Station. The film is based on the Ultimate Fantastic Four comic books. It will focus around the lives of the heroes when they are younger. Josh Trank will be the director of the film. Fox's next goal in the next few weeks is to find someone to play the villain. The reboot is to be released June 19, 2015.

American Psycho's Bret Easton Ellis Writes Movie For Kanye West

Writer of the popular novel American Psycho Bret Easton Ellis seems to have an appreciation for the obscure, but a recent collaboration request from awhile back was something that he finally considered. According to Ellis, Kanye West has been approaching the writer more than a few times to write up a screenplay for him.

The seemingly odd film partnership came up in Ellis's recent interview with Vice magazine.

"[Kanye] came and asked me to write the film. I didn’t want to at first. Then I listened to Yeezus. It was early summer last year and I was driving in my car. He’d given me an advance copy, and I thought, regardless of whether I’m right for this project, I want to work with whoever made this. So fuck it, I said yes. And that’s how it happened. That was seven or eight months ago. We’ll see what happens."

Bret Easton Ellis and Kanye West may appear to be a random pairing. However, between Kanye's stunts with the media  and Ellis's infamous creation of a psychopath that everyone enjoys, I think that the collaboration between these two controversially creative men could quite possibly have some potential as long as Kanye doesn't repeat his semi-awful impromptu performance at the end of Anchorman 2.

The date for the film has yet to be set. When asked about the production of the project, Ellis responded, "It’s in Kanye Land, and that’s subject to a whole other time frame."

[Trailer 3] Nymphomaniac

Film seems to be getting racier in this day and age, and if a border-line porno is going to take the screen, it better be a damn good plot line for it to be in theaters. Along this route comes Lars von Trier with his what is being called "sexual romp of a film" Nymphomaniac, and following off of that statement, I guess I could feel a little bashful in my desire to see it. However, I like when a filmmaker doesn't shy away from what may make a film become controversial or potentially far more interesting, and I think the bold stance Nymphomaniac is about to take as a film will undeniably be a cinematic feat in itself.

Nymphomaniac is about a girl recalling her many sexual experiences to a man who saved her from being beaten to death. Starring Charlotte Gainsbourg as the self-proclaimed nymphomaniac, the film features a lot of huge names such as Stellan Skarsgård, Uma Thurman, and Shia LeBeouf (unfortunately without a bag on his head). You can watch a clip of the upcoming film here.

The film is to be released on iTunes/OnDemand on March 6, 2014 and in theaters on March 21, 2014.

The fans of John Green, to the say the least, seem to be a cult of positive energy that revels with every creative work the Young Adult author puts out onto the market. With a YouTube collaboration that he puts out with his brother and a variety of novels for teens to devour in the course of a few days, the man's sensation is only expanding from here.

The Fault In Our Stars has been adapted into a film starring Shailene Woodley as Hazel Grace Lancaster and Ansel Elgort as Augustus Waters. Hazel is a teenage girl battling cancer and attached to her oxygen tank at all times, while Gus rocks a prosthetic leg in remission. Meeting in a cancer support group, the two become caught up in one another as they embark on a journey of love that is guaranteed to be a tear-jerker.

The Fault In Our Stars has been adapted by Scott Neustadter and Michale H. Weber, both of whom are known for their works (500) Days of Summer and The Spectacular Now. It was directed by Josh Boone.

The film will be released in theaters on June 6, 2014.

Shirley Temple Young

R.I.P. Shirley Temple Black (1928-2014)

Shirley Temple Black, arguably one of the most famous childhood stars of Hollywood, has passed away at the age of 85 late Monday night.

Shirley was born in 1928. At the age of three she lauched into her career, proving herself a talented actress, singer, and dancer in the eyes of many all over the world. Temple Black's career blasted off into stardom both domestic and internationally with David Butler's Bright Eyes (1934) which brought with it the classic Shirley tune On The Good Ship Lollipop. Beating out even some of the most popular adult stars of her generation in the box office such as Bing Crosby or Clark Gable. Her other popular cinematic musicals included Little Miss Marker (1934), Curly Top (1935) and The Littlest Rebel (1935).

Temple Black was revered for offering the nation, suffering through the Great Depression at the time, uplifting moments and a positive light when things seemed so bleak. In fact, it has been argued that she kept 20th Century Fox from reaching bankruptcy during the rough period. At her peak in childhood, Shirley was earning a remarkable amount of money for each film at about $50,000 per film. However, her contract with 20th Century Fox was terminated in 1940 due to the decline in the actress's popularity.

Shirley retired early at the age of 22 and married Charles Temple Black who she remained with until 2005 when he passed away. However, her legacy did not end at the young age. Not only did survive a battle with breast cancer in 1972, but also she went on to be a U. S. Diplomat simultaneously. From 1969 to 1974, she served in the U.S. delegation to the United Nations. She followed that up by serving as the U.S. ambassador to Ghana from 1974 to 1976 then U.S. ambassador to Czechoslovakia from 1989 to 1992.

Shirley Temple Black will forever be remembered for her tight locks and bright eyed smile as she lit up the silver screen during a time when the world seemed dark. Her long, fulfilling life will definitely be held on a pedastal for many future generations to look upon.

DreamWorks Animation Starts Publishing Unit

Like many other film companies, DreamWorks is attempting to turn their intellectual properties into a profitable market. The animation studios will be adding to their repertoire a new publication company through which books promoting their characters will be produced.

Previously the studio was licensing different publishers to make books featuring their characters with Simon & Schuster holding the master license. Calling their new company "DreamWorks Press," they intend on publishing books with the studio's characters and stories to provide their fans with a year-round meaningful experience. The Perseus Books Group will sell and distribute the books.

The franchises the studio intends on targeting the most are the popular works like Kung Fu Panda, Shrek, Madagascar, and other future productions. An international team is in the works in order for these publications to be enjoyed around the world. DreamWorks hopes that this new project will be something to keep their creative works in business for a long time.
