[Video] Avey Tare's Slasher Flicks Announce Tour & Album with "Little Fang"

Back in 2012, while looking for a different sound to add to their latest project, electronic gods Daft Punk turned to Panda Bear, the somewhat leader of Animal Collective, the progressive, experimental group of artists including Geologist, Deakin and John Maus have consistently pushed the envelope, merging traditional instrumentation with specifically electronic aesthetics and world influences to create an end product that is a departure from much of what hits the airwaves today, and also influencing much of what comes afterwards.

Acting as a collective, the individual artists dip in and out of the penultimate project, with only two albums having every member on it. Today, guitarist Avey Tare announced the unveiling of his new band, Avey Tare's Slasher Flicks, alongside their eclectic initial single, "Little Fang" and an announcement of a full LP and tour, all coming soon. As if Avey branching out on his own wasn't enough, he gets help from former Dirty Projectors crooner Angel Deradoorian and ex-Ponytail drummer Jeremy Hyman. The trio let the world know of their plans for their debut project, Enter The Slasher House, which is due out April 8. You can pre-order it here via Domino Records and receive "Little Fang" as a free download for your trouble. Check out the single, and tour dates below.

[Video] LensRentals Shares Their Love with a Funny Ad for Valentine's

Not many people understand the bond between a photographer and their camera gear. And for some of us photo enthusiasts, that gear is all the love we'll need this Valentine's Day. In light of the occasion, the fun people at LensRentals proved that they understand this endearing relationship by sharing their love with a funny ad.

But still, what's Valentine's without some red roses, a few winks, and maybe a little light jazz? LenRentals.com loves lenses, but they go even further with expressing a little love for the consumer with a great sense of humor that goes a long way. Get a good laugh and check out the video.

Angel Olsen Photo

[Video] Angel Olsen: "Hi-Five"

Angel Olsen is doing everything but sitting on her hands waiting for her upcoming album, Burn Your Fire For No Witness, to drop on February 18. She recently performed four unreleased tracks for NPR Music's Tiny Desk Concert Series, and has now released a brand new music video for the country-folk flavored single "Hi-Five." There really couldn't have been a more appropriately creepy yet stunning concept for this video. Olsen and director Zia Anger transport you to a television broadcasting studio straight out of the '60s. Olsen looks striking, yet apathetic while she dances around in a gold shimmering sweater with red tights, two-stepping and making grand sweeping hand gestures.

Check out the video and put this track on repeat while you anxiously await Burn Your Fire For No Witness.

[Video] Neko Case Performs on Conan

Neko Case graduated to a new level of notoriety last year on the strength of her mouthful of an album, The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You. The project found itself surrounded by the likes of Kanye West and Arcade Fire atop many of 2013's picks for top albums of the year and that has vaulted her onto the national stage. One of those stages is Conan's late night spot on TBS, which Case stopped by to perform her song, "Ragtime" with Calexico. It's a refreshing performance to start your day off properly, watch the full set below.

[Video] The Amazing Spider-Man 2 "Enemies Unite"

Following last week's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Super Bowl teaser, Sony released a full-on video detailing Electro's (Jamie Foxx) origins, as well as a look at Dane DeHaan's take on Harry Osborn. The video, entitled "Enemies Unite," focuses mostly on Electro, but also hints at a unified villain group backed by Oscorp (as was mentioned with the announcement of a planned "Sinister Six" series of spin-off films). There are only a few more months until The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swings into theaters!

[Video] Bruno Mars' Super Bowl Performance

To tell the truth, it's been all Janet and Justin's fault. If you're in your mid-twenties or below at the moment, then a good percentage of the Super Bowl halftime shows have been set on tape delay and toned down to just above audible, with movements highly scrutinized. Two years ago, the NFL tried to fine M.I.A. for her middle finger at the end of her performance. That and a general sense of boredom that has perpetuated the half time show of the year's biggest contest since Justin Timberlake stripped Janet Jackson's left breast bare for the world to see.

Last night though, Bruno Mars put on one hell of a performance, playing on the 50s/60s-esque aesthetic complete with a dancing backing band and footwork that James Brown would grin at. Aside from an odd inclusion of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who performed only "Give It Away," as Flea and Anthony Kiedis flexed their manliness over Mars by forgoing shirts in the frigid New York night. Alas, though, Mars was entertaining from beginning to end as he held the tempo in his hand throughout, ending the performance with a rousing take of "Just The Way You Are," which was preceded by a dedication from military members to their families. While the game was less of a contest than many would have liked, Bruno Mars made sure they were entertained in between. Watch the whole thing, streaming below.

[Video] Jhene Aiko & Sampha Perform at Future Festival

BBC Radio 1 has been celebrating its Future Festival with a series of inspired performances from some of the tope rising acts across the music landscape and yesterday had Jhene Aiko & Sampha perform as part of the event.
