[Mixtape] Cam'ron: "Ghetto Heaven"

Come take a ride with Cam'ron as he takes us on a tour across Ghetto Heaven in his latest mixtape. The cover art --which looks like it was made by a 7th-grader on Paint...on Windows '98-- might put you off, but Killa always comes through in the clutch when it counts and he delivers a few jams in this project. Production credits and features include 2 Chainz, Aarab Muzik, T.I., Yo Gotti and more.

[Mixtape] Brian Fresco: "Mafioso"

It's time to get your latest SaveMoney fix as Brian Fresco unleashes the Mafioso 'tape, which we had been teased with since the rising emcee released the posse cut "Steamer" back in December. Mafioso was worth the wait though, 13 tracks showcasing Fresco's strengths plus guest-appearances by Chance The Rapper, Kami de Chukwu, Vic Mensa, Tokyo Shawn, Joey Purp, Tree, Nico Segal and Most Dope's Njozma. Believe me, you might find some of his lyrics basic at first, but with every listen there are new things you'll hear and then you'll understand the complexity behind the music. I haven't be able to fully indulge in the project, nonetheless, the standout tracks so far have been: "She's The Type", "Steamer", "I Mean It" & "D.B.M.". Shouts to Fresco's mom for coming through in the clutch and dropping some knowledge in the intro too.

[Mixtape] The Hood Internet: "The Mixtape Volume Seven"

Somehow, The Hood Internet's latest mixtape, The Mixtape Volume Seven, slid past us. The new collection of mashups by the Chicago production duo features 25 tracks mixing up a plethora of artists, including Justin Timberlake, Daft Punk, Danny Brown, Chance the Rapper, Action Bronson, Frank Ocean, and Purity Ring. For those unfamiliar with The Hood Internet, they mix and mash hip hop/R&B tracks with songs from Indie Rock bands, resulting in an insanely catchy and infectious number of songs.

Some personal favorites from The Mixtape Volume Seven include "Grown Up Has No Trigger" (Danny Brown X Dirty Projectors), "Double Talm" (Chance the Rapper X Girl Unit), "Lucky Suit" (Justin Timberlake X Jay-Z X Daft Punk), and "Pyramidspeak" (Purity Ring X Frank Ocean). Keep in mind: This is all coming from somebody who doesn't really like dance music; The Hood Internet is that good.

You can stream the mixtape below or download it here.

[Mixtape] Tree: "Sunday School II"

A lot of anticipation has been growing for Tree's next mixtape. Since Sunday School came out last year, the Chicago MC has been upping his game and visibility, including being featured as a Red Bull Sound Select artist. With Sunday School II: When Church Lets Out, Tree has escalated to the next level, complete with backing from Closed Sessions and Creative Control. Features include Lili K, Teddie Caine, Ari Lourdes,Danny Brown, Project Mayhem, and Roc Marciano with production by Tye Hill, Bink!, Frank Dukes, Illinois Jones, Bobby Johnson, Khari Lemuel, S.C., and Tree himself, Sunday School II is bound to be one of this year's best releases out of Chicago. Prepare your ears for some SoulTrap.

[Mixtape] Calez: "G-Unit Bundle Pack"

"I told [Calez] he gotta be the coldest motherf*cking rapper in the city 'cause I'm already the hottest DJ, man," DJ Oreo says at the end of Calez' first track, "Ready or Not." This bravado is what helped Calez' emergence in the Chicago hotbed of up and coming rappers. His latest mixtape, G-Unit Bundle Pack, finds the Southside rapper rapping over old G-Unit songs. I admit, I would have put this up earlier, but I got carried away listening to this mixtape. Make sure you have the time to properly listen through these tracks, because Calez is definitely not someone you want to sleep on.

You can download G-Unit Bundle Pack here or stream the mixtape below.

Chicago emcee Calez doesn't seem to be slowing down. Following a XXL co-sign and the release of his latest project Too Broke Tape a mere month ago, the BRKF$T CLUB spitter is back with a 5 track EP gliding over classic G-Unit production. He single-handedly silenced the rumors of signing with G-Unit and also paid homage to a classic time in hip-hop-- The G-unit era. Much like many of his fans, Calez is also a fan. This quick tape known as the "bundle pack" speaks to the many diverse influences that have helped shape Calez into one of the hardest newcomers in rap.
"Them other problems I let the crew hash out//And drop G-UNIT BUNDLE PACK to bring the durags out."-- Calez (@CalezCeito)

[Mixtape] SolarFive: "Say No More"

Last week, Pedro debuted SolarFive's single, "No Love," which featured Mick Jenkins and production by OnGaud. The song was a great first look at what SolarFive is capable of. Today, his full project, Say No More, drops on the masses. Featuring production by OnGaud, THEMPeople, Nick Arcade, Smoko Ono, Mojek, The Grimey Grinch, Peter CottonTale, and VP, SolarFive's debut is a gritty look at the Chicago rapper's life and the emotions he went through in 2012. Say No More also includes features by Vic Mensa, Mick Jenkins, Dally Auston, VP, Speedy Calhoun, Peter Cottontale, Angel Davenport, Queen SheCago, Deja K. Taylor, and Sierra Channel Candia. Some personal favorite tracks include "DreamDay," "Misery," and "Elevator Music."  Keep your eyes out for this rapper on the come up. (Also, props for repping Jugrnaut on the cover!)

You can stream and download Say No More below.

I, Solarfive, am a Chicago MC hailing from the SouthSide of Chicago. Say No More is the latest release from Chicago based Rhymer SolarFive. Say No More is a culmination of emotions that came from tragedy and triumph over the past year. This is a complete journey through the eyes of SolarFive. #SayNoMore

[Mixtape] Dinero Dynasty: "Local Ave"

Local hip-hop duo Dinero Dynasty go all in with Local Ave, their latest 'tape featuring Martin $ky, Kembe X, Lili K, and more. The singles raised a lot of awareness for the project but now they prove those songs were no flukes with the rest of the tracks, which are downloadable below.

[Mixtape] Max Wonders: "Complicated Simplicity"

Max Wonder's name had come up various times on my Twitter's timeline before I asked the young aspiring rapper to send some of his music my way. He quickly sent me his latest 'tape Complicated Simplicity and was impressed with the talent and potential Max shows on the project.

Max himself invites you to "take a journey throughout the soundwave hemisphere" in the press release for Complicated Simplicity and he guides you through his sonical odyssey with 12 tracks and standout feature by Max Bouvagnet and Saba. Peep below.
