Miranda Kerr's Sporty Side

It's not necessarily street wear but more athletic sports wear as Miranda Kerr graces the pages of Vogue Korea in her newest shoot after landing the cover. Shot by photographer Eric Guillemain, the Australian Victoria Seceret model is styled in various designer labels while hanging around the playground. From playing hoops to skateboarding, Eric captured some great photos of her in various styles. Check out the rest of the photos from the shoot from Vogue Korea's July 2013 issue below.

It seems like everybody is on their phone scrolling through photos deciding which ones to post on Instagram. It's so easy to do, whether you're a photographer or not; just point, shoot, choose a filter, then post whatever you created. From the funny duck face selfies to breathtaking landscapes to gritty city streets, some use it as visual journal giving glimpses of their lives. Others have taken it to another level creating works of art. All of us at Ruby Hornet are fans of the social media platform and decided to do a weekly series of highlighting people whose Instagrams we feel are cool. Hi Chrissy

GQ just dropped a new photo spread for who they say is their new favorite model. The new fresh face belongs to model Chrissy Teigen, shot by photographer Thomas Whiteside. Judging by the images and what GQ wrote about her, it's easy to see why they are quite fond of her. Just so you know, she's already be spoken for as John Legend is her fiance. Sorry to burst your bubble, but at least you can check out the photos and video below.

Brazil Woke Up

What started out as frustration over a 10 cent increase in public transportation fares has exploded to thousands of Brazilians taking to the streets to protest social issues that have been plaguing the country. From Sao Paulo to Rio de Janerio, Brazilians are voicing their frustration against government corruption, poor health care, bad public education, violence, and taxes. There is resentment against the government for the raising of taxes in order for the country to get ready to host next year's World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics. The large question is how there's money to host these events, yet not enough to provide Brazilians with better social services like public education or health care. The people of these cities are fed up with what has been going on around them and are protesting because they want a different standard of living. The photographers in the streets of Brazil give us a glimpse of what is happening right now. The photos below show a country's people that have clearly had enough and that of a country that has finally woken up.

From Kanye West to Yeezus

Today is the day that Kanye West unleashes his newest work Yeezus to the masses. With six solo albums now under his belt, let's take a look at never before seen photos of Kanye from The Fader. The man behind the lens is photographer Jonathan Mannion who has shot many artist's in the past, ranging from Biggie to Drake. These photos were taken roughly 10 years ago before Kanye released his first album, The College Dropout. Even before he had an official album out, Kanye landed the cover, which in a sense crowned him as the next big thing. This would be his first magazine cover, and it certainly wouldn't be his last either. 10 years ago, all eyes were on a man named Kanye West, and now 10 years later, all eyes are on Yeezus. For more about the photos and the shoot  from that day, check out The Fader here.

The Weekly Swarm: 6/10 - 6/16

This week's "The Weekly Swarm" is a little late, and I apologize for that. I was covering Spring Awakening all weekend, trying my best not to give in to the temptations of flashing lights, half-naked girls, and off-beat dancing to a lot of wub wub wub. It was a fun weekend getting an inside look at a scene I don't know much about. The photos from Spring Awakening will be going up later this week, so if I took photos of you over the past few days: fear not, they'll be up in a few days.

Last week was action-packed: E3 2013 took place, shaping the next generation of video games with Microsoft's Xbox One and Sony's PlayStation 4 settling their prices and release windows, the trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug was released, we got word of a surprise project from Jay-Z, Bobby took us to space with awesome photographs of the Earth, and much, much more.

We also welcomed Brynn Bixby to the Ruby Hornet team. Everybody welcome Brynn! Props to Brynn, Bobby, and Pedro for holding it down last week.

Hey girl, wanna be in a rap video?

When it comes to rap videos, you pretty much know what you're going to get: gold chains, luxury cars, stacks of money, and of course, the video vixens. That to me is the recipe for a majority of rap videos these days, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I myself like creative music videos that really capture the essence of a song, but sometimes I just want to watch a good old fashioned rap video with all the things we've come to expect. This post is for all of the video vixens out there in the videos doing their thing. Vice has an article that gives you a look at how these video vixens make it to the screen here.
