The Weekly Swarm: 10/13 - 10/19
Last week was a fun one here at Ruby Hornet. I was able to share my coverage from New York Comic Con, including some amazing video roundtable interviews with the cast of Bob's Burgers. We also shared our photos from this year's Austin City Limits in Austin (obviously). There's also the normal stuff we post, like the trailer for the new Mike Tyson Mysteries show on adult swim, Robert Downey, Jr. officially joining the cast of Captain America 3, Sarah Rosado's cereal portraits of musicians, and much more. Check everything out below!

[NYCC 2014 Interview] The Cast of Bob's Burgers
Bob's Burgers is not only one of the funniest and best cartoons on TV right now, it's also one of the best TV series currently airing. Over the past three years, the show has grown into a mainstream pop culture success, continuing FOX's trend as cultivating successful Sunday night animated shows. Whether you love Tina's awkward sexual awakening, Louise's maniacal plans, Gene's naivety, Bob's unconditional love for his family, Linda's hopeful optimism, or any of the supporting characters' quirks and charms, there's something to love in the show created by Loren Bouchard.
Following our talk with H. Jon Benjamin and Larry Murphy, Kristen Schaal (Louise), Eugene Mirman (Gene), Bobby Tisdale (Zeke), John Roberts (Linda), and Loren Bouchard (Creator of Bob's Burgers) sat down with us to discuss their thoughts and experiences on the show. Watch the extended video below! Note: The audio is a little low due to a technical error, so advance apologies for that. Enjoy!

Fun Fun Fun Fest Full Schedule Released
In just a few short weeks, Fun Fun Fun Fest will be returning to Austin, TX. It wasn't that long ago that we found out the daily band lineups, and now, we have the full hourly schedule for the three-day festival. As we've noted previously, each stage represents a genre of some sort, so if you're a fan of indie rock, for example, you won't have to bounce between stages to catch the bands you'd be more inclined to see, which is a pretty ingenious way of organizing stages. Well done, FFF Fest! Check out the full daily schedule below.

Sarah Rosado's Cereal Portraits of Musicians
Creativity knows no bounds for artists, and one artist has captured this idea by expressing herself through something as "simple" as using a breakfast staple. Inspiration strikes at the weirdest times, and for Sarah Rosado, this was no exception. "The inspiration for the series came one morning when one day while eating cereal and listening to oldies and R&B music," she says, adding that creating portraits of celebrities' faces with corn flakes came from the random thought that music has never tasted so good. The choice of corn flakes was a deliberate one, both because they're Rosado's favorite type, but also because the portraits are, as she says, "Easier to manage when creating images requiring finer lines."
Check out some of Rosado's cereal portraits she's created below, including such artists as Bob Marley, Aaliyah, Lauryn Hill, Pharrell, and more! Be sure to check out Rosado's website and Instagram for more from the artist herself.
[NYCC 2014 Interview] H. Jon Benjamin and Larry Murphy (Bob's Burgers)
Bob's Burgers is not only one of the funniest and best cartoons on TV right now, it's also one of the best TV series currently airing. Over the past three years, the show has grown into a mainstream pop culture success, continuing FOX's trend as cultivating successful Sunday night animated shows. During New York Comic Con 2014, I had the chance to sit in during the Bob's Burgers roundtable interviews. In lieu of participating myself, I decided to shoot video of the press date, giving everybody a behind-the-scenes look at what press days are like for those not working in the media. In this first video, H. Jon Benjamin and Larry Murphy, the voices of Bob and Teddy respectively, had a conversation with my table, discussing various points as Tina's origins, working with Bouchard and the rest of the cast, and what to expect in this new season (including the debut of Bob's father!).
Watch the video below, and keep your eyes peeled for the second video tomorrow!

[Interview] The Glitch Mob
Photos by Virgil Solis
The Glitch Mob is coming back to Chicago this Friday to the Aragon Ballroom in support of their latest album, Love Death Immortality. (Note: Our contest for a pair of tickets to the show is still open!) Jesse Pizano and Erica Steinhouse of our collaborators at Three Card Photography had the chance to pick The Glitch Mob's mind ahead of this Friday's show.
[youtube id="fmy5l3PLBtE"]
For those that have never heard of The Glitch Mob, tell us something about yourself and describe your music?
We like to think of it as Adventure Dance Music.
Do you think your name implies a certain sound?
Our sound definitely has some attitude. There’s a feeling of triumph that is present in everything we do, and it’s not intentional. It just happens that way.
How has your music changed since you started out?
It changes every time we do something new. We’re the type of artists to change course and reinvent ourselves every time, to keep pushing and challenging. We don’t even really know what to expect from ourselves next - the music has a mind of its own.
Let's talk about the new album, Love Death Immortality; what's the message behind the title?
The message is contained in the music, truly. Listening to the album is the only way to answer that question. It’s epic. It’s life.
The album sounds different from Drink The Sea. What attributed to the change?
The goal was to take the cinematic feeling of Drink The Sea and port it to the live stage, with full energy. LDI is meant to be a full body live experience, whereas Drink The Sea was more of an introverted album.
What is your favorite song on the new album and why?
Each song tells its’ own story, so depending on how I’m feeling I’ll listen to different songs.
Do you guys have any rituals before going on stage?
We have a little meditation ritual we do before every show to clear our minds. It’s crucial for us to leave everything behind and put on the best show possible.
Besides the touring what's next for you guys?
After this last tour wraps up we will spend some time recovering and inevitably head back into the studio to see where the story takes us next…
Last question is there anything you guys want to say to the "mob"?
So much gratitude. As an independent act, nothing we do would be possible without The Mob.
HBO is Cutting the Cord, Offering Cable-Free Subscriptions in 2015
“That is a large and growing opportunity that should no longer be left untapped. It is time to remove all barriers to those who want HBO." - HBO Chairman and CEO Richard Plepler.
For somebody who hates downloading stuff illegally, I've missed out on a lot of amazing TV shows because of my lack of HBO. Sure, I could borrow HBO Go logins from friends (and have honestly attempted to), but I never went through with them. I've gotten caught up in the Game of Thrones hype, yet I've never actually seen an episode, I, too, want to see dragons and nudity and sword thrones! But alas, without a cable subscription (or even a normal TV subscription due to my recent move this summer) or money to throw down on the Game of Thrones DVD/Blu-ray sets, I was resigned to waiting until the series hit Netflix Instant.
However, in a move that has been rumored for a couple of weeks, HBO has finally come to their senses and announced their intentions to offer HBO to users who don't have an HBO cable subscription. By their count, there are 80 million homes in the United States that don't subscribe to HBO, and it's this demographic that the company is hoping to attract with their announcement. No concrete details, such as pricing, limitations, etc. were revealed.
What should be noted is how this announcement will affect pre-existing relationships with service providers like Comcast and DirecTV. Surely, they won't be too thrilled that HBO is taking their service into their own hands. However, I'm sure there are provisions in place that will continue to offer cable subscribers incentives (exclusive shows, cheaper rates?) that non-cable subscribers won't have. Of course, this is all just speculation, but we'll hear more information as the weeks follow.

[Trailer] Mike Tyson Mysteries
[youtube id="oBMEB8fiUlI"]
Mike Tyson has been rebuilding his public image over the past few years following his retirement from boxing with memorable cameos in films like The Hangover, his one-man show Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth, and his New York Times Best Seller, Undisputed Truth. What's the next step for one of boxing's most dominant athletes? An Adult Swim cartoon!
During New York Comic Con 2014, the extended trailer for Mike Tyson Mysteries was revealed. The cartoon is a Scooby Doo-esque mystery starring Tyson as himself and the Mike Tyson Mystery Team made up of his adopted Korean daughter Yung Hee (Rachel Ramras), the Ghost of the Marquess of Queensberry (Jim Rash), and a pigeon named Pigeon (Norm Macdonald). If the animation style seems familiar, it's because Warner Bros. Animation themselves is handling it, which is a great show of faith for the show.
Mike Tyson Mysteries will premiere on Adult Swim on October 27th at 10:30pm EST/9:30pm CST. Check out a small gallery of images from the show below!
