Ruby Hornet's The Weekly Swarm

The Weekly Swarm: 1/20 - 1/26

What an exciting week it's been for Ruby Hornet. We made our debut at the Sundance Film Festival, as you may have noticed with our plethora of content pouring in (with much more to come this week). It was exciting to be able to attend such a prestigious festival under the Ruby Hornet name, a sign that we're definitely growing in the best of ways. Beyond the film stuff, however, we kept things locked and grounded through our other categories, including a ton of new songs and videos and our first tests for a "songs of the day" feature. Outside of music, we shared a lot of interesting and amazing photography projects. Check everything out that you may have missed below!

The Weekly Swarm: 1/6 - 1/12

How about last week's polar vortex, huh? While the weekend was exponentially warmer than the beginning of the week, the potholes scattered across the streets were a firm reminder of the bitter cold front we experienced here in Chicago. With Virgil and I leaving for Utah this week, we're going to have nothing but cold in our near futures. Nevertheless, the show goes on.

Check out all of last week's content below!

The Weekly Swarm: 12/23 - 12/29

How were everybody's holidays? Mine was spent sleeping, sleeping, sleeping, and... sleeping. This upcoming week looks to be similar, albeit with a little less sleeping. 2014's going to be a huge year for us, and I would like to personally thank everybody for riding with us over the changes we've been making since April.

While you were drinking eggnog and spending time with your family, we had some solid updates this past week, including my review of Martin Scorsese's latest (and greatest), The Wolf of Wall Street, a first look at young Taylor Bennett, the latest installment in Pharrell's ARTST TLK with Leonard Nimoy, Rap Genius' Google shenanigans, and more! Ruby Hornet's The Weekly Swarm

The Weekly Swarm: 12/2 - 12/8

It's been a full week and a half since Thanksgiving. Have all of you recovered well? We're in the final stretch of 2013, which has me extra amped for New Year's Eve... but bummed out by the prospect of snow. Maybe I can just hibernate until SXSW next March? However, the site will never rest, as indicated by the busy week we had at the Ruby Hornet offices. We wished Paul Walker a final goodbye, Fast & Furious 7 was officially postponed while Fast & Furious 6 star Gal Gadot was confirmed to portray Wonder Woman, the first trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was revealed, Justin Bieber and Chance the Rapper announced a collaborative song, theWHOevers dropped their latest music video, as did Daft Punk, Kate Moss let it all out for Playboy's 60th anniversary, Amazon announced plans for a 30-minute delivery drone, and more. Check everything out below!

Ruby Hornet's The Weekly Swarm

The Weekly Swarm: 9/23 - 9/29

Welcome to the new Ruby Hornet. When Virgil brought me on board back in late April, our goal was to bring Ruby Hornet to new heights, to expand on the success that Alex and Sean spent years establishing. In the past five months, we've brought some key members to the team and added much, much more diversity to the website. It had been a long time coming, but we're happy to share the next major step in Ruby Hornet's evolution. There are bound to be a few missteps here and there, but don't be afraid to let us know about them. The new look is just the tip of the iceberg.

This week, the long relationship between Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer came to an end, Taylor Swift was cast in The Giver, Brynn interviewed Dave Davison from Maps & Atlases, we had an onslaught of music videos from Rick Ross, Z Money, Psalm One, Drake, Vic Mensa, Chief Keef, and more, Irina Shayk posed for VMANGrand Theft Auto V sold more than $1 billion, and Zane Lowe interviewed Kanye West which led to some amazing #NODISRESPECTTOBENAFFLECK tweets and the subject of Jake's weekly Sunday Coffee Sipper.

Check out everything Ruby Hornet covered this week below.

The Clipse: "Popular Demand" and "Grindin'" On Jimmy Fallon

Sneaker Pimps

The Clipse performed on Jimmy Fallon last night.  And being the clever duo that they are, they hit the audience with something classic and something new.  Pusha T and Malice performed "Popular Demand" and "Grindin'" with The Roots, who serve as the House Band for Fallon, for those unfamiliar.  See the videos below.
